Painting Workshop (Flora Fauna)

$240.00

Explore the art of painting plants and animals using bold, expressive color combinations. In this class, students will develop skills in composition, color mixing, reference based painting techniques while receiving step-by-step guidance to create a finished 16” x 20” painting over four weeks.

Students will engage in targeted practice both in and outside of class to strengthen their technique, and all professional-quality materials will be provided for use during the course and to take home. To get the most out of the experience and complete your final piece, students should plan to dedicate 2–4+ hours of independent work outside of class each week. Various levels and art styles are welcome.

Teacher Bio: Nadya Voynovskaya is a multidisciplinary artist working in painting, muralism, and sculpture. Their work explores queer immigrant identity, nature, folk traditions, and community empowerment. They have created over thirty community-based murals in Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco CA; Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Bronx, NY; Atlanta, GA; Miami, FL; and Akumal, Mexico. Their murals are developed with students and local communities to reflect the cultural richness and social justice narratives of each place. Nadya also brings eight years of teaching experience, and is known for creating inclusive, engaging spaces where students can build skill, confidence and community.

Wednesdays, May 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th
